Terms of Service
1. AGREEMENT TO SERVICES
By submitting a device to Devtek Repairs, the customer agrees to our diagnostic, repair, and service terms. Customers will be contacted with a quote before any repairs are performed and must approve the repair cost in writing (email, form, or message) prior to any work commencing.
2. NO-FIX, NO-FEE POLICY
There is no charge for diagnostics if your device is deemed unrepairable or if you choose not to proceed with the repair. You will not be billed unless a repair is completed.
3. REPAIR AUTHORISATION & FINALITY
Once a repair is approved and completed, the quoted price becomes final and is non-refundable.
If you change your mind after repairs are completed, you may request to undo the work. In such cases, a flat $60 labour fee will apply, and you will also be required to pay for any parts ordered, which will be returned with your device.
We encourage customers to consider approval carefully, as parts are ordered specifically for your repair and often cannot be reused or returned.
4. REPAIR WARRANTY
All completed repairs come with a 90-day limited warranty covering the specific fault that was originally repaired. This warranty does not apply to unrelated issues, physical or liquid damage, or faults caused by customer actions or third-party interference.
If a warranty issue arises that is directly related to our repair work, Devtek Repairs will cover the return shipping cost as part of the warranty process. However, if the issue is unrelated or found to be caused by customer misuse, shipping and additional service fees will apply.
5. SHIPPING & DROP-OFFS
Customers are responsible for covering all shipping costs, both to and from Devtek Repairs. Return shipping costs will be calculated and added to the final invoice, itemised alongside the repair cost. Local drop-offs can be arranged by appointment, and collection is the customer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
6. RIGHT TO RETAIN DEVICES (REPAIRER'S LIEN)
Devtek Repairs reserves the right to retain possession of the customer's device until all outstanding payments (including parts or post-approval fees) are paid in full. This right is protected under Australian Consumer Law and the common law repairer's lien.
7. UNCOLLECTED DEVICES
Devices not collected within 60 days of service completion may be considered abandoned. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before securely disposing of the device.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Devtek Repairs is not liable for data loss, incidental damage, or consequential damages resulting from repair services. Customers are strongly encouraged to back up all data before submitting a device.
Where reasonable, we will attempt to resolve concerns amicably and in good faith, but final acceptance of liability remains at our discretion.
